The Dark Heart (Irish Crime 13)
Pete (Harvey Moloney), an eight-year-old boy from the Traveller community, vanishes without a trace. His mother, Sinann (Allie O’Neill), desperately seeks help, but the Garda largely dismisses her concerns. When the footprints of a child are found beside the body of a dead man, psychologist Cathrin (Désirée Nosbusch) is brought in by Superintendent Kelly (Declan Conlon). While suspicion initially falls on Sinann, Cathrin uncovers a lead that sends the investigation in an entirely new direction.
Madness (Irish Crime 14)
Rea Jordan (Callan Cummins) is a sensitive young man – and an unpredictable one. When he witnesses his biological mother, who abandoned him and gave him up for adoption as a child, dying in a caravan fire, he panics and flees the scene. Under the leadership of Superintendent Kelly (Declan Conlon), the Garda quickly determines that the fire was no accident but murder, and Rea soon becomes the prime suspect. Yet he is unable to give a coherent statement, veering between withdrawal and aggression. Cathrin (Désirée Nosbusch) earns his trust and persuades him to enter a psychiatric clinic. Unlike Kelly, she does not believe Rea is guilty. But when Rea disappears from the clinic and attacks his adoptive mother, Cathrin is forced to question her own judgment.
