AIRED OCTOBER 2019 ON ARTE
After being out of work for a while, Alina has a chance to get her dream job. But in order to take the position, she must hide the fact that she is raising her daughter Lilia on her own. She now has to restructure her life and finally has to ask her ex, Jarek, to take Lilia to her weekly violin lessons.
The girl and the failed painter must now overcome old grudges to make the “joint venture” a success. Jarek meets the violin teacher's family – Clara lives with her husband Bertschi and her three sons, who take a liking to him much faster than Lilia does. But even with her, he manages to break the ice and he starts to enjoy the family atmosphere. When it comes to Bertschi, coincidentally the city's patron of the arts, Jarek is rather withdrawn and simply too proud to chum up to him.
Even when Alina's secret is discovered and she is dismissed, he still insists on taking Lilia to her lesson every week. He feels drawn towards Clara but cannot admit it to her. When Lilia gets the chance to join a masterclass with a different teacher, Jarek and Clara lose touch. Just until they run into each other a couple of months later…
