Lisa (Inez Bjørg David) and Patrick (Lucas Prisor) are a happy couple and want to start a family together. The catch: they already have a family each, including their ex-partners Martin (Steve Windolf) and Katja (Anna Schäfer), who have to be integrated into the complicated patchwork structure. The children’s time is divided equally between the separated parents – alternating weeks with mom and dad. As warm and homey as this “bonus family” situation may sound, life in a patchwork family is of course anything but idyllic. Patrick’s son William (Levis Kachel), a polite and reserved boy, has to share a room with Lisa’s same-age son Eddie (Fillin Mayer) during their weeks with Lisa and Patrick. Eddie never misses an opportunity to show his new bonus brother and bonus father what he thinks of them: nothing.
