Summer 1999: Simon has just finished school. After the vacations, the plan his father Rainer has made for him is to go into effect: Law preparation course, a "sensible" degree, career, marriage, children, retirement, death - not exciting, but a sure thing. But when Simon meets the cool lifeguard Mira in the public pool of the town, he's smitten. To be close to her, he gets a temporary job at the pool, while his father thinks he's at a law seminar. His father, of all people, is part of a "misunderstanding" that has brought Simon and Mira closer together. And then Simon's cover is blown, and the summer of his life threatens to turn into a nightmare.
