AIRED DECEMBER 2020 ON ZDF
One night, 19-year-old Tim Jatzkowski doesn’t return home from partying, and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary at first. But then his father, luxury car dealer Frank Jatzkowski, receives a ransom demand. When Martin Brühl, an experienced inspector, is involved in the efforts to find Tim, he encounters a distraught mother and, to his surprise, an unconcerned Jatzkowski, who is reluctant to pay the ransom. Brühl, now suspicious, investigates Jatzkowski’s business ventures and discovers that the latter has commercial ties to Berlin’s underworld. During his investigation, Brühl comes into contact with the wine merchant Oliver Froehling, who knows more than one might think from his innocent demeanour. A cat-and-mouse-game between the police, Jatzkowski, Froehling, and the notorious Berlin underworld begins. A game that is grounded in a tragedy far in the past: an illegal street race that ended in catastrophe.
