The Inspector and the lost Child

AIRED OCTOBER 2017 ON ZDF

In an elegant residential neighborhood on the outskirts of Berlin, children and parents roam through the November evening, singing: lantern parade. The 9-year-old Janosch knows everyone - except for the inconspicuous woman (Silke Bodenbender) who pushes a buggy slightly away from the others. When Janosch looks into the buggy, he is confused. The child is a doll. At the same time, TV presenter Caroline Schäfer (Anja Kling) sneaks into her child's room to take a look at her "sleeping angel", but the bed is empty! It seems impossible that the 2-year-old Paulina left the bed alone. The desperate parents call the police. The lead investigator Martin Brühl (Roeland Wiesnekker) suspects that the "celebrity child" was kidnapped. He sees parallels with a similar case two years ago, when Martin was unable to find the child. LKA psychologist Susanne (Meike Droste) sees the moderator's overstress as a possible motive for the perpetrator. There are some who think Caroline is a "bad mother", even her husband Till (Magnus Krepper). When a ransom demand arrives and another child, the 9-year-old neighbor boy Janosch, disappears, the situation seems to be heading for a catastrophe.
